I think I finally got my browsing woes on the 5x00 solved -- Opera 7.30 for Qtopia 1.5 for the 5500/5600 can be found at http://www.zaurususergroup.org. It installs without a hitch, and it works. Kudos to ZUG and of course, to Opera.
To get it, click on the ZUG Downloads link, then under the Packages group, click on Applications. From there, its about 3 pages in on the listing. Or try this link (in case it doesn't work, try the above instructions, or search the site for Opera):

I installed this on a stock Zaurus 5600, and sites that the version of Opera shipping with the 5600 choked on worked nicely. I may reflash my 5500 and see how it fares there; if so, I'll post the results. If Qtopia 1.5 were only able to do landscape mode...
ZUG seems to have a nice set of packages to download, and a feed as well (which I haven't tried yet). I'd look into them as a source for packages if I were you, particularly if you own a 5x00 series Zaurus.

The ZUG website seems to have a problem ... when I try to search or browse for the Opera 7 package for the SL-5X00, I cannot find it. Also, at the bottom of the page, there is this error indicated:
Fatal error: Call to a member function Execute() on a non-object in /home/.nika/offroadgeek/zaurususergroup.org/includes/pnSession.php on line 368
There doesn't seem to be a way to contact the site admin or webmaster. Too bad. Do you know of any other place to download? I have been looking but can't find one.
